People on Covers

Either the cover was presented as "here it is" or sometimes with several choices. Often there was a clear winner, other times it was "the best of the worst" of the choices given. Personally, I prefer to see people in profile, or to just see their backs, or their feet, or their…well, you get the picture. I like to keep the image of how I see them, undisturbed. (That’s why I loved the cover of Be Mine in Good Hope so much)

Anyway, the next time you pick up a book with a cover that has people on it, take those appearances with a grain of salt.  What do the hero and heroine REALLY look like? Why, they look just as you imagined...
